Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect a little data so the site works and stays useful, and we don't sell any of it. The longer version is below.

Last updated April 20, 2026

What we collect

When you visit Build A BetterCart we may collect basic information about your visit — pages viewed, approximate location (country / region), device and browser type, and interactions with carts, products, and shopping lists. Your cart contents, theme preference, retailer picks, and quantities are stored locally in your browser (via localStorage) and never leave your device unless you explicitly share them.

Cookies & third-party services

We use cookies and similar browser storage to make the app work and to understand how it's used. We also embed third-party tools (analytics, tag managers, CDNs) that may set their own cookies or beacons. The web being the web, data about your visit may be processed by those third parties under their own policies. For the specifics of what we set and why, see our Cookie Policy.

How we use it

  • Keep the site running, secure, and fast.
  • Understand which features are helpful so we can build more of them.
  • Debug issues when things break.

We do not sell your data. We don't build ad profiles on you. We do not use your data to train models.

Data about you may be collected

In the modern web, visiting almost any site means some data about you gets collected somewhere — by us, by your browser, by network intermediaries, by third-party services embedded on the page. By using Build A BetterCart you acknowledge that reality and accept it. If you'd rather not, please don't use the site.

Your choices

  • Clear your browser cookies and localStorage at any time to reset everything we know about you on your device.
  • Use browser features like Do Not Track, private browsing, or tracker blocking. We won't try to work around them.
